Terms of Use
(For all customers and
visitors of this Web
site)
This website makes every effort to make sure the techs
listed here know what they are doing. We send out (at a
minimum) newsletters once a month with information that
should keep the techs in-the-know for our industry.
There are people who call themselves technicians that
have no more training than the average home-owner. To
make sure you get a technician that can do your job
right, there are some questions you can ask them:
-
How long have they been in this
business?
Their answer should make you comfortable in
hiring them. The actual length of time should not
matter. If you hear them stumble on any of the
questions you ask, you might want to move on to the
next listing.
-
Ask if they are insured.
This is one very fast way to know if they are
legitimate. If they say yes, you still have the
right and obligation to protect yourself to ask to
see the policy. Do not be afraid to call the insurer
to confirm the policy.
-
Ask for references.
If you are still not quite comfortable with them
ask for a few references. They should be happy to
supply them when you ask.
-
Ask if they are connected with
any social media places like Facebook, Youtube or
LinkedIn.
This is a very fast way to find out who you are
hiring; their social network will not typically lead
you on since it could tarnish their own reputations.
-
Ask what their method of payment
is.
The answer should be more then just "cash", It
is understandable if they do not accept checks but
at a minimum they should have a PayPal account where
you can make a credit card payment.
The bottom line is... it is your
responsibility to check out who you are hiring. This
network is a subscription base listing service and
everyone on this network is an independent or company
hired technician; and they are bound only by their own
ethics. Always do a little research before hiring
"anyone" even a national company.
